Yr8 Overnewton Alice Mosaics with Debbie Qadri : A group of Year 8 students design and make their own mosaics with artist in residence Debbie Qadri. The mosaics take their inspiration from Lewis Caroll's Alice in wonderland and a mosaic that Debbie Qadri made about Alice. The students will be making ceramic features for the mosaic. making the ceramic features
The year 8 students are making features for their mosaics out of clay. They are applying underglazes to decorate them, before the bisque firing. After the bisque firing the artworks will be glazed and then fired again. They will come out of this second firing, very shiny and colourful. Then they will be put into mosaics.
